Dr. Roshni Parmar was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time in Boston, she received training at the New England Eye Institute and East Boston Neighbourhood Health Centre where she practised primary eye care, which included comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, and dry eye management. Dr. Parmar is also trained in the co-management of cataract and refractive surgeries, such as LASIK, PRK and Corneal Cross Linking.
Additionally, Dr. Parmar is trained to manage ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetes, and traumatic brain injuries from her hospital-based externships. After completing her training, Dr. Parmar gained experience in pediatric eye exams, vision therapy and fitting contact lenses at the Vision Institute of Canada in Toronto, Ontario.
Dr. Parmar has successfully completed both the Canadian and American National Board Examinations, allowing her to practice optometry in Canada and the United States of America. Dr. Parmar is also certified in the use of therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. Dr. Parmar is passionate about providing quality and informative eye care for patients of all ages. Dr. Parmar is fluent in a multitude of languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati and French.
When away from the clinic, Dr. Parmar enjoys spending quality time with her family and in her community. She has volunteered in providing free eye care at Homeless Connect Events in Toronto and other international charitable organizations by providing eye care to those in need.
